Canoes, Kayaks, and River-Tubes

Equipment?
Paddles, Cushions, and PFD's included. Children 6 years old and under must wear PFD by Mich. Law.

Transportation?
Pickup at the landing is included or for large groups we will help you spot cars at the landing.

Fishing?
The South Branch is a "Blue Ribbon" trout stream. You must have a Trout Stamp. The Mason Tract area is restricted to fly fishing only. Call for more information and start times.

Have your own boat?
WECL can transport your boats or spot a car.

Day Trips

Roscommon to WECL
Trip Time - 1¼ to 1½ hrs.
Never paddle a canoe or a kayak?
Do you have small children?
This could be a good trip for you.

Roscommon - Chase Br
Trip Time - 2½ to 3 hrs.
Trip starts at Wallace Park in Roscommon.
WECL customers can stop at the livery for a break.
Takeout is at Chase Bridge

Mason Tract / Chase Br - Smith Br
Trip Time - 4 to 4½ hrs.
Fishing is "flies only" in this area.

Mason Tract / WECL to Smith Br
Trip Time - 5½ hours.
July and August reserve early.
A long trip for younger children.

Canoe camping is fun!
Rustic campgrounds border the river, small fee required.

Canoe Harbor Campground

Campground is fifteen minutes up-stream from Smith Bridge. Pickup at McMaster Bridge the second day is about four hours.

Paddle Time
Watters Edge - 5½ hours.
Chase Br - 4 hours

Rainbow Bend Campground

Campground is twenty minutes up-stream from McMaster Bridge. Parmalee Bridge is about three hours.

Watters Edge - 7½ hours.
Canoe Harbor - 3½ hours.

Parmalee Bridge Campground

Campground is on the left just before the bridge. Pickup point is across the river on the right bank. Camp Ten Bridge is about three hours.

Canoe Harbor - 7 hours.
Rainbow Bend - 3½ hours.
